My first post

Today's Reflection
In today's class we discussed chapter one of Vanessa Elaine Domine's book, Rethinking Technology in Schools. I had not yet read the chapter but someone told me that the first chapter told the story of a substitute teacher who was pranked by her students. She had left her laptop in the classroom during a break and several students went on her laptop and uploaded porn. I assume the laptop was attached to a smartboard (or something like it) and when the teacher opened her screen the whole class was able to see the sites she was on. The teacher was then convicted by the state all because several students wanted to have some fun.
I think this type of reaction shows the hypersensitivity of North American culture. Obviously the truth was finally told and the students who pranked the teacher admitted to thier wrong-doings. I think that the situation should have been delt with within the school, and bringing the problem to the state is just an over reaction and waste of tax dollars.
